Position Summary This position will provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with: 14CFR Part 61 and Part 141, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airmen's Information Manual, advisory circulars, airport operational requirements, and program policies and procedures. This person will schedule students, maintain records, and ensure that each student in each flight course meets course standards, training requirements, and objectives.

Essential Functions - Perform those flight instructor duties authorized by the Federal Aviation Regulations in accordance with the current Training Course Outline.
- Perform Stage Checks and proficiency flights.
- Maintain accurate Program records including student training records.
- Ensure all students understand and practice all aspects of the Safety Program.
- Manage training schedules of all assigned students.
- Attend instructor and student meetings as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Minimum Qualifications:
- 200 hours total flight time
- FAA Certificated Flight Instructor
- Must have more than 500 hours of instruction given and 2 full semesters at SUU.
- Must hold a current FAA Class I, or Class II Medical Certificate.
- Aircraft piloting skills, including familiarity with and ability to perform required flight maneuvers and procedures.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply effective instructional technique in the classroom and in flight.
- Knowledge of appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations and related administrative and operational procedures and requirements.
- Ability to work well under pressure in fast paced and noisy environment while always exercising sound judgment.
- Strong customer service skills. Maintain 80% pass rate for final review and stage checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bravo Airspace experience.
- Density Altitude flying above 5,000 feet.
Supplemental Information Additional documents needed to apply:
