Role: Lead Software QA Tester- Job 4538

Location: Onsite- Glenn Allen, VA

Terms: Contract – long term

Wage : $60-70 an hour- based on experience

Capstone IT is helping our client to find a Lead Software Quality Tester . This is an incredible opportunity with a leading energy company. The selected candidate will be performing 100% QA duties , focusing on both manual and automated testing of web and client applications, backend API automation (using Java for automation, not for development ), and database validation.

Top 6 Skills

Expertise in manual and automated testing (Client Server and Web Applications)
Proficiency in Azure DevOps (especially Test Plans )
Strong experience with backend API automation using Java ( for test automation purposes, not application development )
Proficiency in UiPath platform (RPA) (Studio, Orchestrator, Robots)
Strong skills in Oracle SQL and MongoDB
Proficiency with Linux (navigation/log retrieval) and familiarity with WebLogic

Responsibilities

Develop, set up, and execute manual and automated test scripts
Perform end-to-end traceability from requirements through testing
Manage defects and report on testing progress
Analyze test results, log issues, and retest corrections
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers
Assist UAT Leads with test strategies and tools
Support upcoming mobile application testing initiatives

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in Testing/QA
5+ years leading testing of large-scale n-tier systems
Strong knowledge of:
UiPath
Oracle SQL
MongoDB
Java Spring (architecture understanding, non-developer )
Linux and WebLogic
Azure DevOps services, especially Test Plans
Excellent communication and flexibility in dynamic environments

Nice to have: Test driven development (TDD) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) CI/CD, mobile testing, energy sector experience, Confluent Cloud, Kafka, Cloud computing
