The Somerville Public Library seeks a creative, self-starting individual to supervise the East Branch library. The ideal candidate will focus on building community partnerships, engaging underserved groups, and developing new programs and services for adults of all ages.
The work environment involves everyday discomforts typical of offices, with occasional exposure to outside elements. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not unpleasant.

Physical Skills
Some physical demands are required to perform the work. Work effort principally involves sitting to perform work tasks, with intermittent periods of stooping, walking, and standing. There is also some lifting of objects such as books, office equipment and computer paper. Job requires ability to bend, lift and carry library materials and pull book carts (up to 40lbs.)
Motor Skills
The job requires motor skills for activities such as moving objects, operating a telephone system, computer and/or most other office equipment, typing and/or word processing, filing, and sorting.Visual Skills
Visual demands include constantly reading documents in print and on the computer, for general understanding and for analytical purposes.
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week (includes five hours paid lunch); including nights and Saturdays
Salary: $88,739 annually plus benefits
