Job Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures products meet company and industry quality standards by defining, monitoring, and approving processes to achieve production standards. They play a vital role in product quality, from initial design to final delivery, by testing, inspecting, and improving products and processes. 

Responsibilities:

· Maintain and follow quality management systems for compliance with established regulatory, client, and/or industry requirements, government regulations, and other relevant standards, specifically ISO 9001, 13485 & AS9100

· Maintains the internal documentation library for accuracy and ensures it is current. Ensure the consistent application of forms and document usage. Responsible for updates and timely review of standard operating procedures and forms.

· Maintain and follow Quality Inspection Controls as per IPC-A-610 Industry Standards.

· Verify all standards and production documentation (travelers, deviations, product awareness reports, etc.) are being adhered to throughout the manufacturing process.

· Utilize Six Sigma & Lean techniques that improve key metrics (Cost of Quality, Customer Complaint metrics, Yield) that increase organizational effectiveness and reduces cycle time.

· Lead and drive Problem Solving Processes to resolve Customer complaints, Customer audit findings or Return Material Authorizations in a timely manner that prevents reoccurrence. Assists with failure analysis, root cause analysis and corrective actions.

· Record, review and react accordingly all necessary documentation regarding quality of products. This should include Manufacturing Yields, Scrap Controls and RMA assemblies.

· May inspect purchased materials for compliance with company quality standards and maintain representative samples of material as a comparison.

· Perform other duties as needed to support the customers, manufacturing processes and Quality Systems companywide. This includes following procedures, work instruction and completing all related documentation.

Qualifications:

· BS or Higher in Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.

· Minimum of 5 years of progressive Manufacturing / Process Engineering experience with exposure to responsibilities listed above.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel and Access.

· Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities unsupervised.

· Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Employee(s) are required to have an eye exam for this position. 20/20 vision (with glasses or contacts if needed) is required and must be able to see colors.
