Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, monitoring, and management of structural engineering scope, budget, and schedule to ensure successful project delivery
• Perform quality assurance reviews of structural designs and work closely with team members to resolve technical issues
• Prepare estimates for structural engineering services related to both design and construction
• Produce detailed contract documents, including drawings and specifications for construction
• Conduct site investigations and evaluations of existing infrastructure, preparing technical reports
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate structural requirements with overall project goals
• Coordinate cross-discipline design details and resolve interdependencies
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior structural engineers and technical staff
• Support CADD technicians in creating accurate, presentation-ready structural designs
• Prepare and review construction cost opinions for structural elements
• Offer technical support during construction phases, assisting field personnel with structural questions or challenges
• Contribute to the ongoing development of design standards, specifications, and templates
• Develop custom designs and details for unique structural scenarios
• Participate in site visits for construction monitoring and post-construction evaluations

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
• 10–15 years of professional experience, preferably in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration
• Deep knowledge of building codes and structural standards related to concrete, steel, and masonry structures in industrial environments
• Strong working knowledge of materials specifications and structural construction methods
• Proven ability to independently manage structural engineering tasks while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in preparing construction documents and detailing for complex structures
• Demonstrated project management and team coordination experience
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including experience in client presentations and public speaking
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
• Experience with CAD platforms such as MicroStation or AutoCAD
• Structural Engineer (SE) registration
