About the Role:
Federal Signal is a trusted leader in emergency response and communication technology, serving communities and industries nationwide. The Speaker Line Assembler role is critical to the production of high-quality communication equipment. The role includes detailed assembly of mechanical and electrical components, working from specs and schedules, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Pay Rate: $19.77/hour - $21.77/hour, DOE
Available Shift Times:
- Monday - Friday, 3:30pm - 12:00am
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble speaker line components using soldering, staking, riveting, and pressing techniques
- Review production schedules and coordinate materials, tools, and supplies for the work cell
- Utilize shop orders, blueprints, and test instructions (digital and print)
- Make electrical connections and test product functionality
- Identify, store, and retrieve parts across storage areas
- Troubleshoot and correct assembly malfunctions
- Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, pallet jacks, and computers
- Complete preventive maintenance on assembly equipment
- Train new team members and promote work cell efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and safety within the work cell
- Fill out non-conformance reports and complete system transactions for inventory updates
Key Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with mechanical and/or electrical assembly required
- Must pass company comprehension test
- Knowledge of hand/power tools, meters, gauges, soldering irons, crimping tools, etc.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to perform physical tasks (standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, using arms/hands extensively)
- Capable of reading schematics, shop instructions, and completing documentation
- Familiarity with PPE usage (safety glasses, hearing protection, ESD gear)
