Surgical Technologist Traveler at UCHealth summary:
As a Surgical Technologist Traveler at UCHealth Grandview Hospital, you prepare the operating suite, manage surgical instruments, and assist surgeons during orthopedic procedures. You ensure the proper handling of surgical equipment and patient positioning while adhering to safety and procedural standards. This role requires certification, BLS training, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Description Location: UCHealth Grandview Hospital, US:CO:Colorado Springs
Department: Orthopedic-Centered with 3 ORs
FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days 4x10
Pay: $44.00 per hour plus travel package/stipend
LOCAL Traveler contract options available for those who reside within 75 miles
13 week assignments available - extension options
Minimum Requirements: - Surgical Technologist program
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
- 1-year experience
- BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date

- Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
- Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
